Its that time of year where we start to think about the changing of the seasons. For us personally, we really love the start of autumn, but typically save most of our decorating for later in the season, closer towards our favorite holiday, Christmas. That doesn’t mean we don’t spruce up our house and add a few details to transition our house from Summer to Fall. Keep reading for our Tips on how to Decorate for Fall like a designer.
In the past year, we’ve really been gravitating to soft earth tones & warm neutrals. So for this season’s decor, we’ve really focused on bringing in more of those colors, layering with warmer textures like leather, darker woods, and knits. If you’ve read our 5 Decorating Mistakes Blog then you know our BIGGEST pet peeve is when people take a designtheme too literal. That’s why for us, we prefer a more sublte approach to all our Holiday Decor. Here is our Fall Decor Find Roundup that approaches this season in a more refined way.

We don’t know who needs to hear this, but the cup you drink your Pumpkin Spice Latte out of matters. We definitely have a mug obsession, and these options are no exception. Opt 2 Here
Adding warmer textiles to your bed, sofas, and chairs, is one way we decorate for the cooler weather. We live for a good warm Bouclé or Fringe. Opt 2 Here
This may be an obvious one, but switching up your vases and summer/spring florals is a MUST when decorating for Fall. We gravitate towards muted creamy whites, greens, rusts, and browns, shying away from harsh oranges and reds.
Besides our obvious Mug Obsession, we also have an affinity for candles. Last year, we tried out some inexpensive flameless pillar candles, and we got hooked! This year, we’re revamping our fireplace, and adding these tapers. We love the convenience of the remote, and how realistic they truly look!
Brass and Copper are our favorite metals to mix-in for Fall. This beautiful and inexpensive brass tray is an easy way to swap out our summery style rattan tray.
For us, we tend to host a lot during the holidays, so it goes without saying that we find a few more Fall Inspired Kitchen & Dining Decor to help us with our tablescape. While these are on our list for Fall, they definitely can be used year round! (Oh, and they also come in black as well!)
Yes, we do in fact use a few pumpkins/ gourds in our Fall Decor…. but we try not to over do it. What we love about these adorable guys, is their soft/ muted color tones, which works much better in ur space than loud and harsh “traffic cone orange” colors you may find elsewhere. Opt 2 here
Fall scents are super important to us for setting the tone of the season. It also helps, when your candles are this cool. We love the look of the leather wrap on option 1 (which also makes for a perfect gift) and obsessed with the modern twist of a traditional candle holder, so much, we couldn’t decide which was our favorite! Swapping out your throw pillows is just as important to us as changing your underwear! Playing with textures and color tones is our tip for finding the right options for your space. This is the season where Bouclés, Leathers, Suedes, and Woven Knits come to shine.
Black and white sketched botanicals are all the rage this season, and we are instantly gravitated to this trend. The soft modern charm to these frames is a must have for Fall. Comes in two styles, which can easily be styled over your sofas, nightstands, hallways and more!
Our girl McGee is at it again with this dark wood decorative bowl. We love how craftsman it looks, and how versatile it is. It’s no wonder its has 4.6 out of 5 stars for reviews!
Last but not least, these flat storage boxes, we just put in our cart today from Amazon. We can’t wait to see how these turn out in person. These are great to bring warmth to our Coffee Table or to pop against the black in our Fireplace Mantle, but honestly, these are great for just about anywhere in the house!
